A brief message to parents:  You are probably reading this because your child is a pupil at Great Sankey!

If you have concerns about homework or coursework, check out the links above.

As a Science Teacher I, in common with my colleagues in Science, obviously want to do the very best for your son or daughter, whatever level they are at: Key Stage 3, GCSE or A level.  Most Science teachers at Great Sankey teach around 250 different children each week.  That's a lot of children!  The hope is that this web site will help to deliver accurate instant feedback to pupils on how much they have learnt in different parts of the Science curriculum.

The exercises on the site are self-marking and self-paced.  Some of them are also differentiated, that is, pupils may choose to ask for hints or not.  Pupils may attempt the exercises in class, or from home.  Early indications are that pupils appreciate the speed and directness of this way of learning.  When at school, they will often experience the exercises via the recently acquired set of wireless laptops.

There is no substitute for direct interactive teaching in the classroom, but it is hoped that this web site will complement face-to-face teaching and help your child to progress to the very best of their ability.

PS If you have any comments or suggestions about the site, please email me - thankyou in advance!  If any faces of pupils  appear it is because both they and their parents have given their permission.
